GBV Prevention & Response
Breaking the Silence: Preventing and Responding to Gender-Based Violence (GBV)
We are committed to preventing gender-based violence in all its forms and ensuring that survivors receive the support, protection, and justice they deserve. Our GBV prevention and response programming works to challenge harmful norms, provide life-saving services, and create safer environments for women, girls, and marginalized populations.
GBV is a violation of human rights and a public health crisis. It not only harms individuals physically and psychologically, but also tears at the social and economic fabric of entire communities. We take a survivor-centered approach that prioritizes safety, confidentiality, dignity, and informed choice — while addressing the root causes that enable violence to persist.
From awareness-raising and legal advocacy to psychosocial support and access to justice, we engage communities, institutions, and local leaders to shift attitudes and systems. Our programs also focus on equipping health workers, educators, and first responders with the tools they need to recognize, prevent, and respond to GBV effectively.
Prevention First
Challenge the norms that fuel violence.
Survivor Support
Deliver safe, compassionate services.
Community Action
Engage men, women, and youth in change.
We believe that ending GBV requires both immediate response and long-term cultural change. That’s why our approach is multi-layered — from grassroots education and household dialogue to institutional reforms and policy advocacy. We recognize that survivors are not victims to be pitied, but individuals with the right to healing, justice, and a voice in shaping safer futures.
Violence against women is perhaps the most shameful human rights violation, and it is perhaps the most pervasive. It knows no boundaries of geography, culture, or wealth.

Former Secretary-General, UN
This sobering truth reminds us that GBV is not just a local problem — it is a global injustice. That’s why we work tirelessly to build communities where dignity, consent, and safety are not exceptions, but expectations.
Our interventions include:
- GBV case management and referral pathways
- Safe spaces and crisis shelters for women and girls
- Training of healthcare, legal, and social service personnel
- Legal support and accompaniment for survivors seeking justice
- Community education on consent, rights, and gender equality
- Male engagement programs to challenge toxic masculinity and promote allyship
We envision a future where women and girls can walk freely, speak boldly, and live without fear. Where violence is no longer normalized, and every survivor is met with compassion, protection, and power to heal.
